Star Wars: The Clone Wars Review: Sweeny Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Once again Tim Burton. Once again a musical. This time, though, with real actors. And among them, once again, Johnny Depp. And it has been already six the collaborations between the Gothic filmmaker and the idiosyncratic performer. Movie Review: Taken Liam Neeson does his best Arnie impersonation, taking on a group of Albanian thugs who have kidnapped his daughter to sell her to sexual slavery in Europe. Not original, but it's fantastic viewing nonetheless. Movie Review: The Dark Knight Holy Oscars Batman! The Dark Knight is definitely not short on action or Oscar winning performances. It makes you literally pop out of your seat with fright and it is full of surprises you don't suspect or anticipate. Movie Review Hellboy II: The Golden Army As with all my movie reviews, I shall give you an honest opinion of the movie, going through both its good and bad points. Now, to start with, and I must write this before I forget, I had a major issue with the contingency of the movie, centering around the character Abe Sapian. Those of you familiar to this series of comic know that Abe is a water inhabitant that in order to survive out in the open must wear the water equivalent of an oxygen tank. Movie Trailer: Dark Knight Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker. Dark Knight: Black Carpet Premiere In a summer of big blockbusters, THE DARK KNIGHT is arguably the most anticipated. See what stars like Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhardt and the rest of the cast had to say about the film at the movie's world premiere! The Dark Knight Premiere Batman himself Christian Bale and cast hit the black carpet in New York to celebrate Heath Ledger and The Dark Knight. The Dark Knight Stars Hit Gotham The stars of the new blockbuster Batman movie The Dark Knight walked the black carpet in New York City at the film's bat-tastic premiere. Michelle Miller reports. The Clone Wars Lucas Makes History at Premiere He's a famous filmmaker around the world, but the premiere of the animated feature 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' marked the first time George Lucas ever attended one of his movies' premieres. The Clone Wars Lucas Offers Peek George Lucas is giving a sneak peak of his computer-animated film, 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' due in theaters this August. It will be followed by a TV series of the same name that will air on the Cartoon Network and TNTS this fall. Michael Moore manages to expertly push the audience in shock and makes everyone feel like something needs to be done. Transformers: Movie Trailer A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possessed it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain's glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain's ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain's glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all "specimens of this alien race," and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of the Pentagon, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens. Transformers: Movie Review Colossal robots from outer space battle it out on earth, good vs evil. Six Good Reasons for Going Organic Six Good Reasons for Going Organic I will freely admit that I devour every article that I can lay my hands on which deals with anything related to gardening. Everyone has something, which they are passionate about in life, mine is my garden. My friends tell me that I am obsessed, and maybe I am. I think my partner is obsessed, in his case it's golf, but as yet I haven't heard any of his friends telling him that he is obsessed. What are GE and GMO Crops? Most have at least heard about GE and GMO crops. Ever wonder if they're going to be approved and planted? What Does Organic Food Certification Really Mean? The term organic is being tossed around quite a bit lately, and you'll soon be seeing a big jump in the number of organic choices when you visit your local Safeway or Wal-Mart store. That's because the demand for organic produce, milk, and meat has been steadily increasing, to the point where the giant retail chains have begun to take the trend seriously. In turn, there will be a growing concern over the certification process as factory-style farms begin to muscle their way into the organic food market as a result of increased demand. Live Free or Die Hard and Ratatouille Why Live Free or Die Hard Must be a Box Office Hit Bruce Willis' career is major jeopardy unless his latest action flick surpasses the 100 million mark by August of 2007. Too much competition from newer action stars will jeopardize his long career. Movie Review: Die Hard Series (1, 2, 3) What differentiates these three action classics is not the way Willis plays McClane but the types of VILLAINS he faces. Screenplay Seminar: Die Hard (1988) Deconstructed The Hero's Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. Bruce Willis Lives Free Bruce Willis talks with Harry Smith about his latest flick, Live Free or Die Hard, and how the latest installment of the popular Die Hard franchise was updated for 21st century audiences. Bruce Willis Talks to Sky News on the Red Carpet Sky News caught up with Bruce Willis on the red carpet of his new movie Die Hard 4 in London's Leicester Square. Movie Review: Live Free or Die Hard This is my review for the movie Live Free or Die Hard. When a criminal plot is in place to take down the entire computer and technological structure that supports the economy of the United States (and the world), it's up to a decidedly old school hero, police detective John McClane, to take down the conspiracy, aided by a young hacker. Justin Long talks Die Hard 4 The star of Live Free or Die Hard talks to ReelzChannel about working with Bruce Willis. Justin Long has also been in many Apple commercials as well as a number of movies. Movie Review: Ratatouille This is my review for the movie Ratatouille. Remy is a rat, constantly risking life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love of good food, as well as a desire to become a chef. Yet, obviously, this is a rather tough dream for a rat. But opportunity knocks when a young boy, who desperately needs to keep his job at the restaurant, despite his lack of cooking abilities, discovers and partners the young Remy. Its up to the two of them to avoid the insane head chef, bring the rest of Remy's family up to his standards, win his partner a girl, and of course, produce the finest Ratatouille in all of France. What is Ratatouille? Disney's new movie Ratatouille, to come out June 29th (Hey Disney! Free advertising!), had me wondering: what exactly is ratatouille? Sure, I'd heard of it, but I wanted to know more about the likes of a French classic that cooked up its own Disney movie recipe. So, I took to the research, and now I'm here to answer any similar questions you may have. Ask away! Ratatouille Trailer Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios (Cars, Finding Nemo) take you into an entirely new and original world where the unthinkable combination of a rat and a 5-star gourmet restaurant come together for the ultimate fish-out-of-water tale. In the hilarious new animated-adventure, RATATOUILLE, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unwanted visitor in the kitchen at one of Paris' most exclusive restaurants, Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who inadvertently discovers Remy's amazing talents. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Review A review of Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Continues the Saga in Excellent Fashion, Savvy Mate? What a relief! Like many of my fellow reviewers, I held my breath after Dead Man's Chest hoping installment three Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End would not be left in the chest with Davy Jones' disgusting, slimy beating heart. Three could have gone in the dumper with the average performance of Pirates two, but thankfully At World's End gets an excellent rating like the first Pirates' presentation The Curse of the Black Pearl. Stop Prairie Dog Poisoning! Animal Rights and Welfare Before you get involved in an animal organization, make sure you understand everything they believe in. The History of Respect for Animals Today we see animal rights activists everywhere. From Green Peace attempting to hunt down a Japanese Whaling Vessel to eco-terrorists letting all the animals escape from a Country Animal Shelter and Pound and then vandalizing it. These of course are extreme and yet humans have quite a lot of empathy for animals and nature as well. No Primate Is Illegal Did you know that non-humans are supposed to have human rights? Talk about losing the language, but that is exactly what some are trying to establish. The test subject for redefining human is a 26-year old chimpanzee named Hiasl which certain animal rights activists are trying to get legally declared a person. Preventing Animal Abuse and Neglect-An Introduction Learn about the difference between animal abuse, intentional neglect and unintentional neglect. Tips on how to identify animal abuse and neglect are included along with information about how to report abuse and neglect. Stop Prairie Dog Poisoning! The U.S. Forest Service today released its draft plan that may drastically increase the poisoning of prairie dog colonies this fall throughout the Buffalo Gap and Fort Pierre National Grasslands in South Dakota and the Oglala National Grassland in Nebraska. Widespread poisoning could kill tens of thousands of prairie dogs, which would jeopardize the continued recovery of the critically imperiled black-footed ferret, the most endangered mammal in North America. The plan would also harm other wildlife that depend on prairie dogs for food or prairie dog burrows for shelter, including rare species such as swift foxes, burrowing owls and ferruginous hawks. Surfing Sunset Beach Hawaii Surfing Sunset Beach Hawaii Hawaii's Sunset beach on the popular North Shore of Oahu is regarded as one of the most famed surfing spot in the world. Every surfers dream and skill level is measured by riding these heavy and tricky waves at sunset beach. Early History of Surfing If images of the kahuna (experts) ritualistically chanting to the Gods to bring the waves, protect men and women who rode them, bless the carved wood boards, kings and queens battling for wave rights and integration between man and the magic of the sea brings images of the history of Surfing to your mind's eye, then you must be filled with Aloha, as the Polynesians intended. The history of surfing dates back centuries before the first written account of observing the sport of kings in 1779 by Lt. James King in the ship's log of Captain James Cook's Discovery. Surfing Origins In the early 1900's the Hawaiians organized the Hui Nalu (surf club) and competed in neighborly surf competitions with the Outrigger Canoe Club. This drew a great deal of attention to the Waikiki surf shore, bringing a revitalized interest in the sport, which had fallen out of favor in the late 1800s. More Surfing History Although surfing was a male-dominated sport, adventurous women surfers can be seen all the way back to the times of the Polynesian Queens. Two notable surfer girls were Eve Fletcher and Anona Napolean. Eve Fletcher was a California-born animator for Walt Disney and Anona Napolean was the daughter of a respected Hawaiian surfing family. The two pioneered the sport for modern women, winning surfing competitions up and down the California coast at the end of the 50s and into the 60s. Look at These Vegetarian Numbers, The Enormous Amount of Resources Look at These Vegetarian Numbers, The Enormous Amount of Resources Non-vegetarians and vegetarians are starting to ask the question of, -is it really doing any good being a vegetarian? If you are thinking about becoming a vegetarian for the ethical reasons, but you are having a hard time making up your mind, then here are some numbers for you to take in. Importance of Being Vegetarian Our earth is bursting with people and stress has been put on food resources. It is getting really difficult to maintain the quality of food in this fast changing world. Hence, more and more people are becoming vegetarians as a solution for their health problems. Vegetarians at the BBQ Once viewed as an eccentric oddity, vegetarians have moved from the fringe to the mainstream. However, the truth is, all too often the meatless menu option isn't vegetarian at all...it's just a menu item, minus the meat. Unfortunately, a white hoagie bun topped with iceberg lettuce, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, and mustard is about as unappealing to the vegetarian as it is to the carnivore counterpart. Go Vegetarian Some reasons on why vegetarianism is better. 30 Reasons to Go VEG Every year, billions of animals (including fish) are killed for food in the United States alone. PETA's video Chew on This sheds light on animal suffering and highlights many of the other reasons to choose a compassionate, plant-based diet. Vegetarianism not only spares billions of animals from horrific suffering, it also spares your waistline. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, 2006 I probably have lost my sense of making coherent connections out of broken bits of narration because throughout the movie I couldn't help but wonder - what the hell is really going on here? - Must see to appreciate the magic of special effects and world-class make up transforming a ship full of adults into amazingly freaky aquatic monsters. Also - if you have never seen a Godzilla-size octopus attacking a ship and eating it alive like a pretzel, this is your chance to savor it. Bon appetite! Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean 2 The mangy dog in Pirates of The Caribbean 2 got the biggest laugh today, during the movie's opening afternoon, and deservedly so. I tried to stay awake, and believe me, I don't sleep at the movies. People next to me, obviously Johnny Depp fans, laughed at the scenery, providing he was in the frame. Nothing in the dialogue helped him a bit. His mugging, and bizarre sideways strutting were still fun, but he, and Keira Knightely were on camera far too little, and Orlando Bloom, or should I say, Or-Blando Bloom, that improbable love interest, was homely and un-swashbuckling beyond belief. This is the middle part of a trilogy, apparently, and according to a New York Times reviewer, the movie doesn't really have a beginning or end: it's all middle. I have to agree. My advice is to take your $11 or $12 and purchase the first installment of Pirates on video, says Dr. Gary S. Goodman, best-selling author of 12 books, over 700 articles, and Fortune 1000 consultant. Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean 2: It's not a Treasure by Far I'm not sure how to start this review, the reason being is, I was once told if you got nothing nice to say, don't say anything, or always say something nice if your going to slam something next. This movie is fragmented, or disjointed throughout its long three-hour worthless scenes. Pirates of the Caribbean Pirates of the Caribbean opened at Disneyland in 1967 and became an instant classic. But it's a picture memory from sometime early in 1966, inside a basic warehouse building at WED Enterprises, that still resonates most strongly with me. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest It's been a while since the last sea adventure featuring the likes of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), his lovely fiancé Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), and the charismatic swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). This time, director Gore Verbinski has given us more of the same, which is good, considering the original Pirates of the Caribbean movie was such a blast. Johnny Depp Talks Pirates 3!
